Visuals
Views allow you to create 2D projections of your 3D model. Each view is defined by selecting 3 nodes that form a plane, and CalcSteel projects all visible elements onto that plane.
Creating a View
In the right panel, expand the Views section and click "Create View". Then select 3 nodes in the 3D editor — these nodes define the projection plane. The view is created automatically and appears in the list.
Navigating Views
Click a view name to enter 2D mode. The camera aligns to the projection plane. Use "Back to 3D" in the top-left to return to the full model. You can toggle grayscale mode and delete views from the panel.
Adding Views to Sheets
Views can be placed on drawing sheets for documentation. Click the "+" icon next to a view to add it to the active sheet. Position and scale the viewport on the sheet as needed.
Annotations
When a sheet is active, the Annotations section appears in the sidebar. It lets you control which labels are displayed for each view on the sheet. For every class of members (e.g. columns, beams, purlins), you can independently toggle Dimensions and Profile Labels on or off.
