Plane Groups
Plane groups let you organize repetitive structural elements — like portal frames at regular spacing — into logical groups. This makes it easy to replicate changes across identical frames.
Creating a Plane Group
In the right panel, expand Plane Groups and click "New Group". Choose the step axis (X, Y, or Z), set the master plane, and select which parallel planes belong to the group. CalcSteel detects available planes automatically.
Master Plane
The master plane is the reference for the group. When you sync a group, all member planes are updated to match the master. This is useful when you modify one portal frame and want to propagate the changes to all others.
Syncing Groups
Click the sync button on a group to replicate the master plane geometry to all members. Bars and loads on member planes are replaced with copies from the master, adjusted to each plane's position along the step axis.
