Keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard shortcut map

Every editor tab has its own shortcuts, and the map shows them all on a drawn keyboard. Press ? in any tab and it opens on the page of the tab you are in.

Open the map

Press ? (or Ctrl + /) in any tab. The Shortcuts button at the top of the editor does the same. The map opens on the page of the tab you are in, and Esc closes it.

Shortcuts

  • ?/Ctrl+/

    Open the shortcut map

Opens this window on the page of the tab you are in.

The drawn keyboard

The map has a drawn keyboard and the list of the tab's shortcuts. Hover a key to see what it does there; a key with no shortcut shows as free. Click a row in the list and its key lights up on the keyboard.

Ctrl, Shift and Alt switch the keyboard layer: on the Shift layer, each key shows what it does together with Shift.

Keys and commands

There are two kinds of shortcut.

  • Key: acts at once. Ctrl + Z undoes, Shift + 2 goes to the Connections tab.
  • Command: you type the letters, they show in the command line, and Enter confirms, as in AutoCAD. A quick right click also confirms. On the map, a command carries the ↵ symbol.

Shortcuts

  • L↵

    Draw bar

Draws bars from node to node.

  • Shift+2

    Go to Connections

Switches tabs without leaving the keyboard.

With the cursor in a text field

While you type in a field, the letters go to the field and the shortcuts wait. A few shortcuts also work there, because that is where you need them: Ctrl + S saves the project, and in the LSF project wizard Ctrl + Enter moves to the next step.

Shortcuts

  • Ctrl+S

    Save the project

Saves the project without leaving the screen, like the Save button.

Search for a shortcut

The map's search box looks at the name, the description and the key. Type what you want to do, such as move, isolate or calculate, and the list keeps only what fits.

Tabs and windows on top

The shortcuts on the General page work in every tab. When a window opens on top of the tab (the node editor, the open sheet view, the full-screen deflection), it has its own page on the map, and its shortcuts rule while it is open.

The pages of the map

  • General: work in any tab.
  • Structure: frames, trusses, warehouses.
  • Connections: the project in gray, to detail node by node.
  • Node: the node window, with the connection pieces.
  • LSF: cold-formed walls, floors and roofs.
  • Prints: sheets and reports.
  • Sheet view: the open view, with dimensions and hidden pieces.
  • Deflection: the deflection in full screen, with four views.
  • Estimate: proposal and price sheet of the project.
