When you open the editor for the first time, CalcSteel presents a selection screen with 7 templates. Pick one to start modeling immediately — you can always switch later.
Available Templates
Templates are divided into two categories: real project snapshots (with loads and supports pre-configured) and parametric generators (simpler structures you can customize).
Blank Workspace
Start from scratch with an empty 3D workspace. Ideal for custom structures.
Warehouse Model 1
512 bars with C & U sections, loads, and supports already applied. Based on a real school building project.
Warehouse Model 2
270 bars, 12×30 m footprint with full bracing. A complete industrial warehouse.
Warehouse 30m Span
412 bars with 30 m clear span using W and U sections. Large-scale industrial building.
Portal Frame
A single gabled frame with 2 columns. Simple parametric template for quick experiments.
Industrial Warehouse
3 frames with purlins and bracing. Parametric template you can customize after creation.
Lean-to Shed
Single-slope roof with 2 frames. Compact parametric template for lean-to structures.
Note: All templates are illustrative and do not include loads or supports. After choosing a template, you will need to define boundary conditions (supports and loads) before running the structural analysis.
