AISC — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The W410x67 steel profile weighs 67.0 kg/m (45.02 lb/ft), has a depth of 410 mm (16.14 in), flange width 179 mm (7.05 in). Cross-sectional area: 8,509.8 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 24,240.73 cm⁴, Iy = 1,378.65 cm⁴.
