EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The IPE 300 steel profile weighs 42.2 kg/m (28.36 lb/ft), has a depth of 300 mm (11.81 in), flange width 150 mm (5.91 in). Cross-sectional area: 5,188.1 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 7,998.99 cm⁴, Iy = 602.71 cm⁴.
