AISC — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The W920x201 steel profile weighs 201.0 kg/m (135.07 lb/ft), has a depth of 903 mm (35.55 in), flange width 304 mm (11.97 in). Cross-sectional area: 25,335.4 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 319,554.37 cm⁴, Iy = 9,436.9 cm⁴.
