AISC — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The W610x113 steel profile weighs 113.0 kg/m (75.94 lb/ft), has a depth of 608 mm (23.94 in), flange width 228 mm (8.98 in). Cross-sectional area: 14,310.9 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 86,430.79 cm⁴, Iy = 3,424.14 cm⁴.
