EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The UB 305x127x48 steel profile weighs 48.1 kg/m (32.32 lb/ft), has a depth of 311 mm (12.24 in), flange width 125.3 mm (4.93 in). Cross-sectional area: 6,055.4 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 9,442.43 cm⁴, Iy = 460.74 cm⁴.
