EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The UB 254x102x28 steel profile weighs 28.3 kg/m (19.02 lb/ft), has a depth of 260.4 mm (10.25 in), flange width 102.2 mm (4.02 in). Cross-sectional area: 3,558.5 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 3,935.08 cm⁴, Iy = 178.41 cm⁴.
