IS — Wide Flange (I-beam)

Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.

The ISWB 300 steel profile weighs 48.1 kg/m (32.32 lb/ft), has a depth of 300 mm (11.81 in), flange width 200 mm (7.87 in). Cross-sectional area: 6,072 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 9,767.04 cm⁴, Iy = 1,334.28 cm⁴.
