IS — Wide Flange (I-beam)

Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.

The ISLB 500 steel profile weighs 75.0 kg/m (50.40 lb/ft), has a depth of 500 mm (19.69 in), flange width 180 mm (7.09 in). Cross-sectional area: 9,416.6 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 38,020.92 cm⁴, Iy = 1,373.58 cm⁴.
