IS — Wide Flange (I-beam)

Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.

The ISLB 450 steel profile weighs 65.3 kg/m (43.88 lb/ft), has a depth of 450 mm (17.72 in), flange width 170 mm (6.69 in). Cross-sectional area: 8,195.5 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 27,150.32 cm⁴, Iy = 1,099.48 cm⁴.
