EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The IPE 180 steel profile weighs 18.8 kg/m (12.63 lb/ft), has a depth of 180 mm (7.09 in), flange width 91 mm (3.58 in). Cross-sectional area: 2,325.2 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 1,272.45 cm⁴, Iy = 100.68 cm⁴.
