EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The IPE 160 steel profile weighs 15.8 kg/m (10.62 lb/ft), has a depth of 160 mm (6.30 in), flange width 82 mm (3.23 in). Cross-sectional area: 1,939.6 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 834.63 cm⁴, Iy = 68.15 cm⁴.
