AISC — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The W610x155 steel profile weighs 155.0 kg/m (104.16 lb/ft), has a depth of 611 mm (24.06 in), flange width 324 mm (12.76 in). Cross-sectional area: 19,589.1 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 127,820.55 cm⁴, Iy = 10,780.32 cm⁴.
