BR — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The VS 400x32 steel profile weighs 31.9 kg/m (21.44 lb/ft), has a depth of 400 mm (15.75 in), flange width 140 mm (5.51 in). Cross-sectional area: 4,064 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 10,847.71 cm⁴, Iy = 366.21 cm⁴.
