BR — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The VS 1000x140 steel profile weighs 139.7 kg/m (93.88 lb/ft), has a depth of 1000 mm (39.37 in), flange width 400 mm (15.75 in). Cross-sectional area: 17,800 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 305,592.71 cm⁴, Iy = 13,337.49 cm⁴.
