EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The UB 686x254x140 steel profile weighs 140.1 kg/m (94.15 lb/ft), has a depth of 683.5 mm (26.91 in), flange width 253.7 mm (9.99 in). Cross-sectional area: 17,644.8 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 134,244.25 cm⁴, Iy = 5,181.13 cm⁴.
