EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The UB 457x152x52 steel profile weighs 52.3 kg/m (35.15 lb/ft), has a depth of 449.8 mm (17.71 in), flange width 152.4 mm (6.00 in). Cross-sectional area: 6,575.1 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 20,968.53 cm⁴, Iy = 644.59 cm⁴.
