EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The UB 356x171x45 steel profile weighs 45.0 kg/m (30.24 lb/ft), has a depth of 351.4 mm (13.83 in), flange width 171.1 mm (6.74 in). Cross-sectional area: 5,643.3 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 11,826.34 cm⁴, Iy = 810.74 cm⁴.
