EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The UB 305x102x28 steel profile weighs 28.2 kg/m (18.95 lb/ft), has a depth of 308.7 mm (12.15 in), flange width 101.8 mm (4.01 in). Cross-sectional area: 3,538.3 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 5,263.13 cm⁴, Iy = 155.25 cm⁴.
