IS — Wide Flange (I-beam)

Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.

The ISLB 250 steel profile weighs 27.9 kg/m (18.75 lb/ft), has a depth of 250 mm (9.84 in), flange width 125 mm (4.92 in). Cross-sectional area: 3,475 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 3,645.58 cm⁴, Iy = 267.37 cm⁴.
