IS — Wide Flange (I-beam)

Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.

The ISLB 225 steel profile weighs 23.5 kg/m (15.79 lb/ft), has a depth of 225 mm (8.86 in), flange width 100 mm (3.94 in). Cross-sectional area: 2,925.2 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 2,448.4 cm⁴, Iy = 143.67 cm⁴.
