EN — Wide Flange (I-beam)
Wide flange beams (W shapes / I-beams) are the most common structural steel profile used in building construction. They are used for beams, columns, and girders in steel-framed buildings and bridges. Designed per AISC 360, Eurocode 3, and NBR 8800.
The IPE 120 steel profile weighs 10.4 kg/m (6.99 lb/ft), has a depth of 120 mm (4.72 in), flange width 64 mm (2.52 in). Cross-sectional area: 1,279 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 306.31 cm⁴, Iy = 27.6 cm⁴.
