BR — Cold-formed Lipped Channel
Cold-formed lipped channels (C shapes) are lightweight profiles commonly used as purlins, girts, and light framing members. The stiffening lips increase local buckling resistance. Designed per AISI S100 and NBR 14762.
The C 400x100x25x6.3 steel profile weighs 47.1 kg/m (31.65 lb/ft), has a depth of 400 mm (15.75 in), flange width 100 mm (3.94 in). Cross-sectional area: 3,936.2 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 8,731.8 cm⁴, Iy = 421.01 cm⁴.
