BR — Cold-formed Lipped Channel
Cold-formed lipped channels (C shapes) are lightweight profiles commonly used as purlins, girts, and light framing members. The stiffening lips increase local buckling resistance. Designed per AISI S100 and NBR 14762.
The C 300x100x25x2 steel profile weighs 8.4 kg/m (5.66 lb/ft), has a depth of 300 mm (11.81 in), flange width 100 mm (3.94 in). Cross-sectional area: 1,084 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 1,492 cm⁴, Iy = 142.17 cm⁴.
