BR — Cold-formed Lipped Channel
Cold-formed lipped channels (C shapes) are lightweight profiles commonly used as purlins, girts, and light framing members. The stiffening lips increase local buckling resistance. Designed per AISI S100 and NBR 14762.
The C 127x50x17x4.25 steel profile weighs 11.3 kg/m (7.58 lb/ft), has a depth of 127 mm (5.00 in), flange width 50 mm (1.97 in). Cross-sectional area: 1,037 mm². Moment of inertia Ix = 249.07 cm⁴, Iy = 32.91 cm⁴.
